Under California law, all public records are free. Interested parties can view public records by contacting the government agency that manages the records.

Slip Opinions are as-filed versions of opinions certified for publication or ordered published; they do not reflect enhancement, editing, and correction for the Official Reports. Slip opinions from the last 120 days are posted together on this page as public information about actions taken by the courts.

The Supreme Court's decisions are published in official reporters known as California Reports and the decisions of the Courts of Appeal are published in the California Appellate Reports.

The majority of Court of Appeal opinions are not certified for publication and are thus not published in the Official Reports. These opinions are known as "unpublished"; they generally cannot be cited or relied upon in other cases (see California Rules of Court, rule 8.1115).
