The song was written by Desiigner and the track's producer was Menace. "Panda" was heavily sampled by GOOD Music labelmate and founder Kanye West for "Pt. 2", a song on West's seventh studio album The Life of Pablo, and inspired a number of remixes.

The project was likely meant to accompany his album Donda, which was released properly in 2021. Donda: With Child runs for 35 minutes and features music that ended up appearing on Donda, though much of what is heard in the visual changed before West released it through traditional channels.

To generate around $1 million in royalties for its creators, as Vultures 1 did for West and Ty Dolla $ign in just one week, the album stuck in a 14% royalty deal would then have to earn an additional $7 million in total sales revenue. Translated to on-demand streams, that would mean around another 1.3 billion plays.
